December 2nd, 1936 – October 29th, 2018
Gladys passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Ted Benson. Loving Mother of Valerie (Jim Steele) of Brampton and Kathleen of Collingwood. Dear Grandmother of Kyle (Kristin), Carly and Jason Rindinella and Steven and Kristen McIntyre. She is survived by her siblings in Winnipeg Howard (Gwen) Smith, Sadie Owen, Violet Buzan, Morris (Diane) Smith and Walter (Joan) Smith as well as many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Gladys was predeceased by her parents Howard and Jean Smith and brother Wilfred Smith all of Winnipeg.
Gladys was an active member of the Brampton Seniors Centre and Probus. She enjoyed spending time gardening and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays.
Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 52 Main Street South, Brampton on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 from 2 – 5 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th at North Bramalea United Church, 363 Howden Blvd, Brampton.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Arthritis Society or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated by her family.
