Gerhard Frderick SCHMITT
July 14, 1933 – April 5, 2018
Gerhard Schmitt beloved husband of Mary Schmitt of Calgary passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the age of 84 years.
Always wanting to remain active he had a passion for playing tennis. Gerry also enjoyed wildlife and nature and would take every chance to be apart of it. He adored animals throughout his life and was enthusiastic to help them when he could. Gerry was a thoughtful and kind man, and will be known always as a pillar of strength for his family. He was very proud in being an instrumental part in bringing CBC to Calgary.
Gerry is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughters, Sylvia Schlagel, Marisa and son-law Andy Broughton; grandchildren, Kimberly Schlagel, Corynne Schlagel; brother Eugen Schmitt, Karl Schmitt; sister Renate Bohm and their children and grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family and friends whom he cared for dearly.
