Obituary of Gerard Hagarty
Gerard (Jerry) Walter Hagarty born June 16th 1961 in London Ont., Died Jan. 26th, 2018. Son of Bill Hagarty and the late Evelyn Reilly. Identical twin to Sean, brother to Maura ( Murray) Bannon, Megan (Geoff Smith) Cathy and Sarah (Kevin Draxinger). Kind, generous and fun loving uncle to Matt, Pat, Joe and Jack Bannon, Chris (Siobhan Desroches), Rory (Shawn Thera) and Adam Smith, Callum, Madeleine and Finn Draxinger. Jerry grew up in London and enjoyed spending summers at the cottage on Mid Huron Beach, where he biked, swam, sailed and got into much mischief. He loved nothing more than to re-tell the stories of all of his practical jokes from those summer days. He attended CCH and Regina Mundi High Schools and worked for many years doing home painting/repairs and alarm sales. He had a gift for putting the most intricate electronics back together and once completely rebuilt a sailing ship inside a bottle. Jerry travelled a difficult road, but if you ever needed him, he would travel for miles to get there to help you out. He was trusting, generous and wanted to live life on his terms. We will miss his smiling face.Visitation Thursday Feb. 1st at John T. Donohue Funeral home 362 Waterloo St. London. 5-7PM. Funeral Mass Friday Feb. 2 10:30 at Parkwood Institute Chapel of the Good Shepherd, 550 Wellington Rd. S, Western Counties Wing, 2nd floor. Meter parking or lot #3. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Salvation Army-London Centre of Hope or the London Food bank.
