The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 83 years. Beloved husband of Denise (née Lavallée) Courchesne of Hanmer. Son of the late Josephat and the late Isabelle (née Bigras) Courchesne. Loving father of Luc Courchesne and Pauline Whalen (Paul). Predeceased by his son Marc Courchesne. Dear brother of Florence, Edna, Rachelle and Nicole. Cherished grandfather of Eric Whalen. Gérard worked for the Royal Bank for over 40 years. He loved being surrounded by people and had a zest for life. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 50 years, where he developed many friendships. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, March 16, 2018 at 2 p.m. at St-Jacques Church, Hanmer.
