JACKSON, Geraldine “Gerry” Frances – passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Heart of the Valley Long Term Care, Middleton. Born December 13, 1924 in Donellans Brook, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Leah (Parker) Saunders. After the death of her mother, Gerry was adopted by Nolette and Mabel Beckwith, Burlington, NS. Gerry was always full of life and had a very busy childhood, tending fishing weirs, helping her mother on the farm everyday with all their extra boarders. She loved all wildlife and had many of her own farm animals to care for. Gerry attended Mack Business College where she attained her bookkeeping certificate June 16, 1972 and worked at Kings Rehab Centre for many years. Gerry had many jobs over the years, including nursing, cooking in restaurants, caregiver and factory worker. She loved the outdoors, gardening, camping and her many trips to the Oaklawn Zoo. She was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, serving on several committees and was an avid dart player winning many trophies. Gerry is survived by and will be sadly missed by her daughters, Dianne (Dale) Sellars, Halls Harbour, Bonnie (Kim) Misner, Rose Bay, son, Scott Baltzer, Greenwood, sister Mary Lou Lambert, Mass, USA, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Gerry was predeceased by her first husband Warren (Bill) Maxwell Baltzer, Aylesford, second husband Paul Fenwick Jackson, Middleton, sons, Eric Baltzer, Wilmot, James Vincent Baltzer, BC, Reginald John Baltzer, Scots Bay, brother Arthur (Enid) Saunders, Berwick, foster brother, Robert Beckwith, sister Beatrice (Floyd) Taylor , ON, Dorothy (Harold) Lutz, Garland, sister Harriet Himmelman and daughter –in-law Chris Baltzer. By request there will be no visitation. There will be a Funeral Service, 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. 902-825-3448 with Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. The family would like to say a special thank you to Carol and Linda Baltzer, the nursing staff at Mountain Lea Lodge and Heart of the Valley for the kindness shown to Mom. Family flowers only.
