Life Legacy
MOSKER (nee Trabucco), Georgina ‘Gina’ ‘Georgie’ (May 10th, 1932 – December 9th, 2018) – It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Georgina Mosker at the age of 86. Gina lived a long and meaningful life and was known as a caring, fun, stylish, adventurous, positive and incredibly supportive mother of five children, grandmother (Nona) to eight grand-children, wife, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, colleague and friend to many. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario to Joseph and Antonia Trabucco (nee Rachello), her parents immigrated to Canada from Quinto di Treviso, in the northwest region of Italy in 1920s. While growing up in Niagara Falls, she worked at the family hardware store and studied at the Niagara Falls Vocational Institute, graduating in 1948. She married Anthony Mosker on May 15th, 1954 and they had five children. After moving from Niagara Falls to Toronto in the 1960s, the family later settled in Montreal in 1969, where Gina lived until 2013. In early 1972, Gina began a long and distinguished career as an administrative assistant at Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School (PCHS) of the Lester B. Pearson School Board of Greater Montreal, where she worked for 33 years, officially retiring in December 2005. Gina’s last years were spent at the Bradford Valley Care Community, north of Toronto, whose caring staff were deeply appreciated by Georgina’s family. Gina was a life-long learner, set high standards, was a chef of legendary Italian food, was an adventurer and she was confidently independent. She loved to travel, enjoyed urban night-life wherever she was, especially in Montreal. Gina was a passionate patron of the Arts. She frequented live-music concerts of all types, theatre, and, for well over a decade, she acted, sang and danced in the choruses of more than a dozen semi-professional musicals produced in the Montreal area in both English and Italian. Her greatest gift, however, was her ability to positively connect with people, often strangers, and make them feel welcome. It was a special gift that earned her an adopted mother and friend status to so many people in both her professional and personal life. Gina is survived by her five children and their spouses, Suzanne Mosker, Denise (Glenn Laverty), Eric (Sharon Anderson), Andrea (Brian Lowson) and Andrew (Ingrid Kincel); her eight grand-children, Patrick, Emma, Shane, David, Hillary, Erika, Anthony and Daniel and was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (1975) and Antonia Trabucco (1980), her husband Anthony Mosker (1993) and her younger brother Daniel Trabucco (2016). Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. Niagara Falls. To commemorate Gina’s inspiring life, two celebrations will take place early in the new year in Niagara Falls, Ontario and Montreal. Online condolences and details regarding these celebrations will be communicated in the coming weeks at www.pattersonfuneralhome.com
