Georgina Campbell « Jean »
Paish – 79, of Kentville, Kings County, passed away
peacefully at home on Monday, January 8, 2018. Born in Glasgow,
Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Gregor and Charlotte
(Harrison) Stewart. Jean’s family moved to Montreal when she
was 14. After marrying Bob, they ventured east to Nova Scotia with
their boys. Jean worked alongside Bob in most of his business ventures
and at Acadia University for many years. Jean was active in many
programs, including Order of the Eastern Star, VCLA, Hobby Crafters,
and the School Breakfast Program. She was a member of the Orchard
Valley United Church and was active in the UCW and the Prayer Shawl.
Jean’s life was centered around her husband, grandchildren
and family, the most important things to her. Jean will certainly be
missed by all of her family and friends. She is survived by
four sons, Rob (Bonnie), Gibsons, BC; Mark (Robin), Kentville; Andrew,
Victoria, BC; and her fourth son and favourite nephew, James (Tammy)
Beatty, Coldbrook; six grandchildren, Megan, Holly, Matthew, Cameron,
Taylor and Aaron; two nephews. She was predeceased by her
loving husband of 58 years, Robert « Bob »; a sister,
Ellen Beatty. Cremation has taken place and there will be no
visitation by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception,
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2018 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Donations
in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of
Nurses, the Canadian Red Cross or the charity of your choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
