Obituary of George Harris
Harris, George Edward – of Ridgetown, formerly of London, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Monday December 17, 2018, age 72.
Born in London, to parents the late George Gilbert Harris and the late Kathleen (nee Whales).
Loving husband to Nancy Pauline (nee Smyth) Harris of Ridgetown.
Step-father of Cory Douglas Ridley of Strathroy.
Step-grandfather of Ayden Edward Ridley and Aubrey Marie Ridley.
Brother to Kathleen Harris of London, Ken Harris (Sharon Hicks) of Glanworth, Colleen Bannon of London, and the late Gord Harris of Grand Bend.
Brother-in-law to Marie (Herb) Wilkins of Chesley, late Donna (late Clarke) Zinn of Stratford, Evelyn Howe of Newstad, George (Barbara) Smyth of Bayfield, late Kathleen Alton of Dungannon, Betty (Stan) Fenner of Goderich, Sharon (John) Edward of Benmiller, and Gordon (Jo-Anne) Smyth of Dungannon.
Will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
George worked at C.F.B. London, working in London and Cedar Springs as Range Warden. While in London, he worked at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London where his father worked at previously. He was a member and trustee of Emmanuel Congregation Church, Ridgetown.
A Memorial Service for George will be held at Emmanuel Congregation Church, 92 Erie St. North, Ridgetown on Saturday December 22, 2018 at 11am with Rev. Tim Lukings Officiating.
Donations in memory of George may be made to Emmanuel Congregational Church or the Ridgetown Salvation Army.
