Obituary for
George Ahola
The family announces with great sorrow the passing of George at the Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of Rose (nee Beaulieu) of South Porcupine. Loving father of Lorraine (Jack) Danis of Azilda and Allen (Patricia) Ahola of Callander. Cherished grandfather of Paul (Megan), Marc (Nathalie), Ryan (Liza), Colin (Emily) and great grandfather of Owen, Jillian, Danica and Vanessa. He will be missed by his sister-in-law Therese (late Mike) Kopko. Uncle to Raymond (Kathy) Kopko and their daughter Stephanie and Carole Kokpo. Predeceased by his parents Kalle & Bertha Ahola.
George was born and raised in Connaught then later in life moved to South Porcupine. He worked at Woolings, the Dome Mine as a hoist man then in the EMCO Shop. Later in his career was in charge of the Hoist Dept.
As per his request, cremation was held and no visitation or service will take place. Remembrance donations to the Timmins & District Hospital – Hospice Department would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
