Gerardus “George” Wilhelmus Reurink, age 86, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Stratford General Hospital. Born in Zwolle, Holland, son of the late Albertus and Hendricka (Schoolemer) Reurink. Survived by his true love and best friend Hermina (Hansman) Reurink of 63 years. Proud father of Rita (Peter) Vassiliou, Harry (Barbara) Reurink, Brian Reurink (Linda Steel), David Reurink (Lisa Martin), Dianne (Doug) Patient and Marian (Christopher) Strickler. Much loved grandfather of Penny, Anna, Christopher, Leslie, Alexandra, Katherine, Kali, Jensen, Taylor and great-grandfather of Evan, Victoria, Xander, Gabi, Ben, Ethan and Alexis. George is survived by his siblings William (Hermina) Reurink, Reit (Mab) Mabasoone, Joe Reurink, Benny (Toos) Reurink, Ton (Toni) Reurink and sister-in-law Annie Reurink. He will be fondly remembered by the Hansman family as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his granddaughter Elisabeth (March 5, 2009), sisters Mary Reurink, twin sister Dini Reurink (in Infancy), a brother Hein Reurink and a sister-in-law Hermina Reurink. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 96 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, July 28th at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Reception to take place in the Parish Hall following the Mass.
