George Louis Kopp
It is with great sadness that the family of George Kopp announces his passing on December 31st. 2017.
George was born in Carmel, Saskatchewan and lived there until his family moved to Humboldt. George worked on the CN Railway for seven years followed by thirty-five years for SaskPower.
George was passionate about the outdoors, sports and continued learning. He passed his love of hunting, fishing, reading and football onto his children and grandchildren as a way of life that they will carry forward.
He leaves to mourn his wife MaryAnn of fifty-four years; his daughter Annette; sons Kevin (Christine) and Michael (Cindy). He also leaves behind grandchildren Janine (Gunnar) Huntley, Jackie McCullough, Jennesa Kopp, Kathleen Kopp, Matthew Kopp and three great grandchildren Chelsea, Cody Huntley, and Chloe McCullough. He also leaves three sisters Dorothy (Wilfred) Benson, Jean (Jim) Hutch and Mary Robinson.
He was predeceased by his mother and father Frances and Joe Kopp; sisters Helen (John) Frederick, Margaret (John) Leeuw; brother Jim Kopp; and sister-in-law Loretta Kopp.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Special thanks go to the Palliative Home Care Nurses and to the ICU staff at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Funeral Service will be held at: Park Funeral Home, 311 Third Avenue North on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Humboldt, SK at St. Augustine Cemetery located on Highway #5 East at 1:30 p.m.
