Obituary for
George Gray
It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Raymond “George” Gray announces his passing. George passed peacefully away from the Copper Crescent Long Term Care Facility, Baie Verte, NL on Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the age of 93 years.
George is predeceased by his wife – Effie; parents – Dorman & Alice Gray; grandchildren – Steven Burton, Kenny Kerfont, Tracey Critch and Jarvis Gray; daughter-in-law – Bernice Gray; son-in-law – Frank Hartigan; siblings – Dorman Gray (Violet) and Ida Newbury (Maxwell).
Left to cherish a lifetime of incredible memories are his children – Robert Gray (Shirley), Cora Hartigan (Pat), Triffie Burton (Harvey), Woodrow Gray (Gail), Olive Burton (Boyd), Kenneth Gray (Donna), Patsy Howse, Victor Gray (Marlene), Valerie Kerfont (Willie), Peggy Foss (Gerald), Rick Gray (Peggy) and Nola Gray (Alex); 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren as well as a large circle of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will take place from Zion United Church, La Scie, NL on Monday, May 7th, 2018 from 7:00-9:00PM and on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 from 10:00AM-9:00PM.
Rev. Chris Mazhandu wil conduct the Funeral Service from Zion United Church, La Scie, NL on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow from Zion United Church Cemetery, La Scie, NL.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in George’s memory to the Zion United Church Cemetery Fund, La Scie, NL.
Pallbearers will be sons – Rick Gray, Kenneth Gray, Woodrow Gray and Victor Gray and grandchildren – Dwayne Gray, Jeff Burton, Justin Foss and Tyler Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be son – Robert Gray and grandchildren – Jennifer Bennett, Charlene Burton, Paula Ryan, Kim Curtis, Patricia Bath and Angie Welsh.
