Obituary for George « Ted » Mann
MANN, GEORGE EDWIN “TED” – Died on Friday, February 2, 2018 in his 91st year with his family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Joan (Dawes). He is survived by his children, Louise (Ted), Susan (Larry), Roberta (Tom), Chris (Melly) and Don (Sindi), 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and his second wife Joyce Weekes. Also survived by his step children, Michael (Susan), Brian (Ann) and Tim (Elaine).
He was born in Leaside, Ontario on November 11, 1927 to Roland and Coral Mann nee: Rosevear. He went to Jarvis Collegiate and then the Canadian Chiropractic College graduating in 1951. He practiced chiropractic in Bowmanville for 44 years.
Dad was a champion of Canadian Indigenous Affairs, dedicated to his Rotary Club for 60 years, and enjoyed a well-played hockey game and anything to do with the RCAF. Dad obtained his pilot’s license, loved to sail and cross country ski. He loved his Labs, was a voracious reader and always enjoyed a paddle in his canoe. He instilled in us all the importance of being fair and to always do the right thing. We are forever proud. We are forever grateful.
Now he is back with Mom, except this time, it’s not on a blind date.
Sic itur ad astra.
