Obituary for
George Alexander Le Valliant
Born in 1925 at St. John’s, Newfoundland, George died in his home at Ottawa on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. An adventurous R.C.A.F. pilot and loving husband, George was predeceased by his beloved wife Jo four years ago. He then undertook dialysis treatments for the sake of us, his daughters June (Alistair) and Kathy. We were privileged to care for him at death. The profound depth of our father’s compassion and courage in this sacrifice will leave us in awe for the rest of our lives. George’s last days were joyful, buoyed by visits and video calls with his nieces, nephew, and dear friends. He wished to acknowledge his remarkable neighbours, especially Charlotte, Kevin, Joanna, and Sarah for their unstinting support and company which enabled him to live confidently at home these past few years. George was most fortunate to have had gentle and kind personal help from Tommy and Goldwin; thanks to the Dialysis Units of the Ottawa Hospital. An informal graveside funeral will be held at Beechwood Cemetery on Monday, April 30 at one o’clock. Kindly gather at the reception centre for directions. We hope our friends and family share their thoughts and memories as part of our ceremony and come to our home following the service.
