Genovefa “Jenny” Pauline Sanderson
September 2, 1963 – December 6, 2018
Jenny Pauline Sanderson was born September 2, 1963 in London Ontario to Douglas and Veronica Sanderson and she passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018 surrounded by loving friends and family members. Jenny was the eldest of her five siblings, Roberta, Helen, Kingsley, Verena, and Zandra, all of which were born to Douglas and Veronica Sanderson. Jenny spent much of her youth growing up in Nordale, Prince Albert until moving to Chetwynd, a small city in British Columbia. It was here where she met her first husband Julian Kurjata, and from whom she had her first son, Douglas Kurjata. While living in Chetwynd she worked at the Cabaret, a job she enthusiastically enjoyed for many years where she would always be the life of the party, and always made sure those who needed it got a safe ride home. Jenny and Julian would come to part ways, however remained friends. She would eventually go on to meet Peter Allen, whom with she would have two more children, Kenny and Jackie Allen. Not wanting to be tied down with a lack of opportunities, she moved back to childhood hometown of Prince Albert and then eventually to Melfort Saskatchewan. During this time she had many jobs and experiences until landing her Class 1A driver’s license which she used to procure a job at Greenland Waste, where she worked until her passing. Jenny was a free spirited soul, fun loving and an undertaker of responsibility when it came to entertaining others as a bartender. She was always up to the task of creating an environment where people could have a good time and be safe while doing, despite the numerous difficulties that may have come with it. Jenny will be missed for her outgoing personality, her positive attitude, her compassion, and her incredible sense of humour.
Jenny has left to mourn; her children, Douglas (Chad) Kurjata, Kenny Allen, and Jackie (Paul) Allen; her siblings, Helen (Lawrence) Jenkins , Kingsley(Dusti) Sanderson, Verena (Wayne) Black, and Zandra (Sheldon) Sanderson; her nephews, Billy Sanderson, Wayne Black Jr and son Dax, Nathan Edwards, Tyler Lalonde, Briley Pelletier and Zackery Merrick; her nieces, Jessica Sanderson her children Emily, Porche, Cole and Austin, Courtney (Kelly) Black Torra Merrick, Alexandra (Jamie) Lalonde, Veronica (Stephen) Lolande; and her faithful companion Revy. She now rests with those who have departed before her; her mother and father, Douglas and Veronica Sanderson; her sister, Roberta Sanderson; her niece, Traci Lynn Sanderson; and her cat, Putters.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Plaza 88, 888 Central Avenue with Celebrant Sherry Ouellette officiating.
