Obituary of Gayl Mae Squire
SQUIRE, Gayl Mae
Gayl Mae Squire (nee Barbour) passed away at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the age of 76. Gayl was the beloved wife of Larry Squire for 56 years and proud mother of Suzanne Simpson (Neil), Rob Squire, and Shannon Squire. Her greatest joys were her seven grandchildren: Ty, Tate, and Claire Simpson, Joel and Meaghan Squire and Brynn and Sabrina Wenstob. Gayl is survived by her dear sister Valerie Murray (Wally), sister-in-law Bev Woolford and brother-in-law Brian Squire (Wendy).
Gayl was an avid card player, an enthusiastic singer, and a valued member of the Ganaraska Divas (Red Hats), the Port Hope Tuesday Bridge group, and the Ganaraska Probus club. Gayl had a gregarious personality and thoroughly enjoyed the social side of life – she was a memorable person.
Visitations will be held at the Allison Funeral Home, 103 Mill St. North, Port Hope on Monday, Feb. 19 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. The memorial service will be conducted at the same location on Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 11 with an onsite reception to follow.
Special thanks to the terrific staff at the Northumberland Hills Hospital and the many other dedicated local medical professionals that assisted Gayl over the past few years.
Contributions in Gayl’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Gayl Mae
