Garry Slicker Richard Millo Martin 2018

OBITUARY
Garry « Slicker » Richard Millo Martin
February 1, 1952 – September 18, 2018
Much loved father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Predeceased by his parents Frederick Charles and Margaret Helen Martin. Garry is survived and will be missed terribly by many loved ones including his son, Millo, daughter Connie (Jennifer), sister Joy (Ray) Card, brother Garnett Martin, sister Kathy (John) Kelly, sister Becky (Wayne) Walker, sister Robbin (Robin) Frame, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and countless friends from a lifetime lived in Cumberland, BC.
Garry started working for MacMillan Bloedel when he was 16 years old and moved to Weyerhaeuser and then Western Forest Products and spent 18 years working in the bush and then moved to the dry land sort at Kelsey Bay and Menzies Bay where he spent the last 30+ years of his logging career. Slicker was a charismatic and well known fixture with a great sense of humour. He was a happy go luckyguy who was hardly ever angry. Garry loved to play his lucky numbers at keno and was an avid football fan supporting the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all he was an awesome loving father who always made sure there was food on the table and a warm home. Garry was a good old boy who will be missed by all and in the community of Cumberland that he called home.
In Garry’s memory, the family requests in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to the Canadian Blood Services.
