Obituary for
Garnet Vernon
Garnet Randall Vernon passed peacefully at the Country Manner in Thedford and formerly of Sylvan, on Monday, April 16 in his 94th year. Beloved son of the late Edith (Randall) and James Vernon. Predeceased by siblings Inez (Jack) Laird, Hazel (Dave) Grogan, Bernice (Harvey) Tweddle, Ken (Helen), and Harold. Dearly loved by nieces and nephews, Gary (Margret) Tweddle, Ron (Bev) Tweddle, Jack (Carol) Tweddle, Brian Sylvia) Laird, the late Fay (Bob) Fox, Veronica (Albert) Vandenbrink, Garth (Cheryll) Vernon, Barry (Sharron) Grogan, and Carol (Glen) McLean. Also survived by several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Garnet retired from Towland Construction after 50 plus years in the industry. An avid hunter and fisherman, passionate about his Ford cars. He had a real taste for his home made maple syrup. He enjoyed having friends and family visit during his 8 years at the Country Manor.
Resting at M. Box and Sons Funeral Home for service on Saturday, April 21st at 1:00 pm with Rev. Doug Wright officiating. Visitation 2 hours prior to service. Interment Sylvan Cemetery. Memorial donations gratefully appreciated for Sylvan Cemetery or the Cancer Society. Garnet’s family expresses their appreciation for the excellent care given by the Country Manor Staff, Dr. Wagner, and the nursing staff involved with the compassionate care for Garnet.
