Frieda Baran

Frieda Baran, at the age of 87 years, died peacefully at home on Sunday, November 4, 2018 with her family by her side. Frieda moved to Canada from Germany in her late teens where she met and married Ilko Baran (predeceased 2001) in December of 1951. Together they raised four children: Victor, Rudy, Arthur and Darlene.
She was a loving grandparent to two grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Although Frieda left Germany many, many years ago, the effects of Alzheimer’s brought her back to her childhood and the last years were spent with wonderful memories of her youth.
We are heartbroken but proud of the life she led and the impact she had on our family.
She was a loving mother, devoted wife and adoring grandmother.
She taught us that family comes above all else and is deserving of your greatest loyalty.
Frieda was gentle and kind and never wavered in her love of us.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Doctors and the incredible nursing staff at the Wexford Residence (Scarborough Ontario) for their support, love and kind words they demonstrated to her over the past 4 years.
Frieda will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives and friends.
Family receiving friends at Friscolanti Funeral Chapel, 43 Barton St., Hamilton on Thursday November 8th, 2018 from 10:30 am until time of service at 11 am.
Interment will take place the same day at the Chapel Hill Cemetery, in Stoney Creek.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
