Jerry passed away at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on February 17, 2018 at the age of 85 with his wife and daughters by his side.
Jerry was born in Sidcup, Kent, England. He emigrated to Canada in 1950 and began his 41-year career as an Instrument Mechanic at Cominco (Teck). He met Sybil, the love of his life, and they married in 1955, raising their three children in Trail.
An active member of the community, Jerry was a member of the Trail Pipe Band, Trail Male Chorus and Rossland Light Opera. He served on the Parks Board, Trail City Council and the Trail Hospital Board, as well as several Provincial boards. After retirement, he enjoyed a career as a Marriage Commissioner and was chairman of the committee charged with building the Aquatic Center in Trail.
He is survived by his wife, Sybil, his children, Debbie (David), Cathy (Rob), Jim, his grandchildren, Darryl, Alyssa, Rebecca, Stephen, Kristen and Sarah, and his great-grandchildren, Oliver and Hailey, and his brother, Allan.
