It is with heavy hearts we announce that Frank Ercse, age 93, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2018, surrounded by family. He is survived by Lillian, his loving wife of 67 years; daughters Sandra (Roger) Walker and Brenda (Les) Mazur, grandchildren: Maxwell (Nikqueta), Holly, Denise and Claire; sister Margaret McKeown of Montreal, and many other relatives. Frank was predeceased by his parents Margaret and Frank, senior.
Frank attended Alex Taylor and McCauley schools in Edmonton. He served in the RCAF during World War II as a Flying Officer and 418 Reserve Squadron after the war. Frank later worked as a Parts Specialist and Office Manager for General Motors of Canada for 38 years. During their retirement, Frank and Lillian took trips to the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand and Hawaii. In the summer, Frank and Lillian were avid a golfers for many years.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff at Edmonton General Continuing Care, Ward 7C, for their exceptional care.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310, Stony Plain Road. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, Alzheimer Society of Alberta, or charity of one’s choice.
