It is with great sadness that the Advincula family announces the passing of Francisco Bragas Advincula, age 70, on Friday, November 30th, 2018 in Vancouver, British Columbia, surrounded by his close family and friends.
Francisco was born on July 14, 1948 in Binondo, Manila, Philippines, to Salustiano Advincula Sr. & Petra Advincula (née Bragas), the youngest of four children. He pursued a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, graduating in 1972. Soon after, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada to join his older brother Emilio and worked as a graphic artist for several companies. During his time in Montreal, he met his wife of 41 years, Tessie Advincula (née Abella), married and moved together in 1982 to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In Vancouver, he started his family, having two sons, Neal in 1984 and Michael in 1986, and moved their family to Burnaby, British Columbia. He loved life and was hard working right up until his death, still working tirelessly for his own company he started in 1996.
His children were the pride and joy of his life and greatly enjoyed watching his sons play sports or any extracurricular activities they were involved in. Francisco is survived by his loving wife Tessie, his two sons Neal, with wife Celia, and Michael, his sister, Florencia Rivera (née Advincula) of Manila, Philippines, nieces Maryann & Jovy, nephews Patrick, Benex & Richard Ibarra, sister-in-law Helen Ibarra, followed by countless other brother & sister-in-laws, great nieces and nephews, Godsons & Goddaughters. Francisco is now reunited with his parents Salustiano Sr. & Petra and brothers Salustiano Jr. & Emilio.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 14th from 6-830pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3M1 (centre of Forest Lawn Memorial Park). The Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Saturday, December 15th at 1:00pm, at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, B.C, V5B 3G2, with entombment following mass at 2:30 pm, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 3M1, Creekside Mausoleum (west wall) (south end of Cemetery).
