Obituary of Francis « Frank » Cavanagh
Passed away peacefully on Friday November 2, 2018, surrounded by his family. Frank was born in Anderson, Glasgow, Scotland in 1938. He lived there with his mother, Katie, father, John and sister, Patsy, all deceased. In 1961 he married Sadie (Sal). They were blessed with 5 children; Angie, John, Paul, Steven and the late Frankie and 3 grandchildren; Robert, Caelan, Clare. Life was good then. In March 2018 just like a thief in the night, cancer came calling again. For the next 7 months, Frank was loved and cared for by his family. He never once gave up the fight. A special thank you to Dr. Karen Weisz and her palliative team at NYGH, who went above and beyond to provide exceptional care and support. He will be missed by all of his golf and soccer friends. Glasgow Celtic was his team since his dad took him as a little boy to his first game. Thank you Jimmy, Donny, Pat, Rick, Tommy, Joe for all of your support. Also, Kelly, Tony, Hillary, Helen, Jo and Megan. Goodnight Papa, we love you Dad, you were the best. To all Frank’s cousins, thank you. I will love and miss you until the end of time. Love Sadie. Go find our Frankie. Visitation will be held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St, Toronto, on Tuesday November 6th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Parish, 75 Churchill Ave, North York on Wednesday November 7th at 10:30 a.m. A private cremation will take place. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
