Florence Roberts
1929-2018
Rexton, NB –
Florence Roberts passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lions Nursing
Home on July 30th, 2018 in her 90th year. Born in West Branch, NB
on July 13th, 1929, she was the daughter of Morton and Mildred Beck
(nee Wright).
Florence loved nothing more
than to be surrounded by children and family.
Many
people are grateful for the love and support she gave to them and
their children. After raising their family in Whitby, Ontario, Frank
and Florence moved back to the family farm in 1985. Florence was a
devout Christian, and a dedicated member of St. Paul’s
Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard. She gave freely of her time
to the ACW, and to many members of the congregation who needed help.
She will be remembered fondly by many for the meals she prepared for
friends and family, especially her amazing bread and famous cinnamon
rolls. She was a devoted wife, mother, Grandmother and her door was
always open for a visit or a game of cards. So many times
she has amazed us with her
resilience and strength! Florence has often yearned for the day that
she would reunite with her beloved husband Frank, and we know that
they are celebrating in Heaven.
She will be dearly missed
by her children John (Judy), Randy (Julie), Marilyn, and Wade (Liz);
Grandchildren Ann (Steven), LeeAnn, Kenneth, Kathleen, Nicole, (Ron),
Erin (TJ), Lindsay (Shawn), Derek (Heather), Heather; Great
Grandchildren Jordan, Travis, Dayna, Connor, Randy, Francis Leo,
Edith, Fisher, Desmond, Zac, Jackson, and Frankie; Sisters Ruby, Gail
(Al); Brother Malcolm (Eleanor); Brother-in-law Kenneth (Ethel),
Russell (Lillian) Sister-in-law Faye (late Mark), and Shirley (Stan).
Florence is predeceased by her parents, her brother Harold and sister
Alice.
The family are eternally
grateful to all of you who made it possible for Florence to stay at
the farm for many of the last years of her life. When that was no
longer possible, we want to thank the dedicated staff of the Rexton
Lions Nursing Home for their kind, compassionate, and loving care in
her final years. You truly made a difference! Visitation will be held
at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Richibucto on Thursday from
2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be
held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard,
on Friday, August 3rd, at 11 am, followed by lunch
and fellowship at the family home. In Florence’s memory,
donations can be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 140
Brown’s Yard, NB. E4T 1W8. Arrangements are in the care of
Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252).
