Florence « Lorene » Collins
1931-2018
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lorene Collins,
86, of Riverside-Albert. She passed away peacefully on January 29th,
2018 at Forest Dale Home.
Lorene Collins was born in Moncton on October 14,1931 the
daughter of the late John and Mabel (Boyle) Corney.
Lorene was the wife of the late Sydney Collins. She
was a seamstress by trade and loved to sew. Lorene was very
community minded and was a leader with Girl Guides and Pathfinders for
many years. She also donated much of her time to the
Volunteer St. John Ambulance when it was in the village, serving as
Superintendent. Lorene will be remembered for her positive
outlook and for her great spirit when dealing with her health
issues. She was very independent and never let her MS stop
her from achieving her goals. She always was willing to lend
a helping hand whenever needed and has left a legacy of love for her
family to carry on. She will be remembered for her kind and
caring ways.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Debbie
O’Connor (Martin) of Riverside-Albert; sons, Paul Collins of
Riverside-Albert and Mark Collins(Jacqueline) of Curryville and her
precious grandchildren, Sara, Jason and Robert; brothers, John Corney
(Kim) of Stoney Creek and Gerald Corney (Cheryl) of
Hillsborough. She will also be missed by her special niece,
Elizabeth Collins (George) of Riverside-Albert and special nephew,
Gary Collins (Brenda) of Germantown and by many other nieces and
nephews. She will also be missed by all of her husband
Sydney’s family and extended family.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her
beloved husband, Sydney Collins (2010); sisters, Joyce and
Alda.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral
Home with visitation on Wednesday Jan. 31 from 2-4 and
7-9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County
Funeral Home on Thursday, February 1st, 2018 at 2:00pm with
Rev. Carol Mullin officiating. Following the service the family will
be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories
and for refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be
held in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, Albert County, NB at a later
date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Bayview
Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated.
Due to allergies please refrain from wearing perfumes
or fragrances to the funeral home.
