She will be forever loved and deeply missed by her children Jim (Kathryn) McLenaghan and Patricia (Allen) Ahola both of Callander; her precious grandchildren Ryan (Liza) Ahola of Ottawa, Colin (Emily) Ahola of Ajax, Marisa McLenaghan of Kirkland Lake and Jed McLenaghan of Red Lake. Also forever remembered by her brothers Leonard and Norman (Shirley) Teague as well as her brother-in-law Bill Beard all of Kirkland Lake; her nieces and nephews Sandra (Carlo) Dal Pai of Kirkland Lake, Nancy (Sean) O’Connor of Kirkland Lake, Marjorie (Paul) Harvey of Kirkland Lake, Alison (Glenn) Whyte of Kirkland Lake, Susan Teague (Mike Johnson) of Lively, Laura Teague-Breukelman (David) of Burlington, Michael Teague of Sudbury, and Garry (Diane) McLenaghan of North Bay. Mary leaves to mourn numerous extended family members. Mary always shared a warm smile with everyone she met along the way. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt; devoted wife and caring friend. Mary was born April 4, 1922 in Cornwall, England. As an infant she moved to Cobalt where her father worked in the mines and later moved to Chaput Hughes. In 1945, she married the love of her life and took up residence in Kirkland Lake. Her working career included a number of positions before she joined her husband Bob operating McLenaghan Marine for many years. They were known for their integrity in business and that reputation remains to this day. Mom’s shortbread cookies are the thing of legend. She loved baking profusely at Christmas, not only for family, but for many in the community. Apple pies were another specialty. Kathy and Pat will miss the annual gift of 20 pies each! Mary was a very talented artistic rug hooker and one of the founding members of Kirkland Lake Artistic Rug Hooking Group. Her works of art will be forever cherished by many. Mary was an avid gardener and a long time member of the Kirkland Lake Horticultural Society. She took pride in her back yard oasis, especially gladiolas, hydrangeas and pansies. Mary’s family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude for the loving care provided and for the kindness and professionalism demonstrated by the staff of Teck Pioneer Residence and Extendicare. No funeral or visitation will be held at this time.
