Obituary Overview
Etienne « Steve » Delphis Joseph Malo
Peacefully, after a valiant battle with rheumatoid arthritis and cancer, Steve passed away on July 10th, 2018 at the age of 72.
Steve will forever be missed by his beloved wife of 51 years Cecile and their sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, Daniel (Shannon), Amélie; Richard (Lesley), Deanna, Vanessa, Paul; David (Kimberly), Tyler (Leanne) and Nathan. He is also survived by his brothers Omer (Germaine), Luc (Marguerite), his sisters-in-law Juliette and Diane; as well as his brother-in-law Roger (Marilyn), his sisters-in-law Simonne (Al) and Lucille, and his many nieces and nephews.
Steve is predeceased by his parents Emile and Gertrude; brothers Leon, Gilbert, Andre, and Denis; sisters-in-law Sheila and Mary, niece Kim; brothers-in-law Louis and Denis, and sister-in-law Bernice.
The only things that matched Steve’s love for his family were his faith, his love of fishing, and his love for the many family dogs, Dori, Poppy, Timber, Hilti and Dixie. He’s now reunited with Bear, Bandit and Sugar.
Throughout his life, and even when he was suffering from debilitating pain, Steve never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren, his sons and daughters-in-law, and the one true love of his life Cecile.
The family would like to thank their many friends, neighbors and relatives for their endless support.
Heartfelt thanks also go to the nurses and doctors at Cancer Care Manitoba and Health Sciences Centre. Words cannot express the gratitude Steve’s family feels for the grace, care, and compassion they showed to Steve and his family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Steve’s name to Cancer Care Manitoba.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday July 18, 2018, at St. Bernadette Church, 820 Cottonwood Road in Winnipeg with Father Phil Daley presiding. Private interment at a later date.
