Obituary of Ethel Waines-Main
WAINES-MAIN, Ethel Irene – the family of Ethel Waines – Main are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother on Saturday July 14, 2018 at the Welland Hospital in her 100th year. Survived by her children Connie Ford (deceased Gary), Shirley White (Gary), Art Waines (Linda), Bob Waines (Wendy), grandchildren Wayne Young, Craig White, Carla Acaster (Kevin), Ryan Waines (Christina), Jennifer Thomas (Kevin), Dallas Waines, Amanda Waines-Pablo (Alex) and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Joyce Breitenbach, Shirley Speck (John). Predeceased by her first husband Harold Waines, second husband Russell Main, her daughter Beverley Young (Carl) as well as 4 sisters. Ethel retired from Woolworths in Port Colborne after 25 years. During her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Portal Village gift shop. A lifelong member of the Central United Church she spent countless hours knitting teddy bears for the Church to send to children in third world countries. Family and friends are invited to visit DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME 135 Clarence St. Port Colborne on Tuesday July 17, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Davidson Chapel on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
