Gallagher, Ernest Allen
Ernest passed away peacefully at the CKHA-Chatham-Campus on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the age of 90.
Ernest was born in Rodney on June 9, 1927, and was the son of the late Henry and Elsbeth (nee Milligan) Gallagher. He was a longtime resident of Chatham and formerly of St. Thomas.
Beloved husband of the late Joyce Irene (neeVerrell) Gallagher (March 15, 2013).
Loving father of Paula and David Brown of Ottawa, Cheryl and Bill Crow of Chatham, Gregory and Mary Gallagher of Brampton, Stephen and Sheryl Gallagher of Chatham and the late Wynn Gallagher and Shirley of Indonesia.
Sadly missed by grandchildren, Shelly and Darren Love, Andrew and Tara Crow, Paul Crow, Christopher and Amber Gallagher, Matthew and Amanda Gallagher, Jeremy and Loren Gallagher.
Great grandfather to, Ashley, Emily, Sadie and Kellen.
Dear brother of Doug and the late Marjorie Gallagher of Lexington, Kentucky.
Ernie was a member of the Louisville Baptist Church, Windsor Flying Club and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Windsor Centre.
He loved genealogy, computers, hockey, baseball and enjoyed his weekly Mellow family gatherings, but above all he loved the Lord.
Ernest was a very generous and outgoing man to everyone and had a sponsored child in Mexico.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m.
A Funeral Service will take place at the McKinlay Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Gord Tetley, officiating.
Interment will be held in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Ernest to Compassion Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
