Obituary of Eric Olmstead
OLMSTEAD, Eric Leroy – Went to be with his Lord and Saviour, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, with his family at his side. Eric of Peterborough, formerly of Pointe Claire, PQ, in his 59th year. Beloved husband of Katherine (nee Sole) for 28 years. Loving father of Andrew and Jessica (Joel Johnston). Dear son of Vaughn Olmstead (Elizabeth Waugh) and the late Dorothy (nee Taylor), and brother of Phil Olmstead. He will be remembered by many other relatives and friends.
Eric enjoyed his work as a PSW at Christian Horizons for over 25 years. He loved the outdoors, campfires and the peaceful sounds of nature. He would often take a drive out into the country in hopes of seeing or hearing some wildlife, and would be content, even if only spotting a rabbit. Eric enjoyed his summers spent in Victoria Beach NS growing up and was passionate about his time spent in Israel.
A celebration of Eric’s life will be held at Northview Community Church, 1000 Fairbairn Street, Peterborough, on Saturday, October 13 at 1 pm with visiting one hour prior (12-1 pm) and a reception to follow.
