OBITUARY
Emma Roberta MacDonald
July 3, 1917 – August 26, 2018
Emma Roberta MacDonald, age 101, of Halifax, NS, formerly of Goldenville, NS, passed away on August 26, 2018, at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home. Born in Rawdon Gold Mines, NS, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ella (MacPhee) Barron. Emma was active in her church and community, and a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed company and delighted in sharing her home-cooking and tea. She was a a wealth of knowledge, having kept a daily diary for 71 years.
Emma is survived by her 5 daughters, Reta Tulloch, Lower Sackville, NS; Audrey (Ken) Croft, Williamswood, NS; Pearl (David) Dauphinee, Windsor, ON; Brenda (Ken) Horton, Hammonds Plains, NS; Heather-Anne (Trevor) Nichols, Toronto, ON. Grandchildren, Denise (Chris) Yochoff, Dean (Carla) Tulloch, Kevin (Amy) Croft, Lisa Croft, Bradley Horton, Mark Horton, Jennifer (Tyler) Byrne; great grandchildren, Adam Yochoff, Holly and Emily Tulloch, Scott Glenn-Croft, Bryden and Frank Croft, Logan and Sadie Byrne; step great grandsons, Andrew and Nicholas Yochoff; and many special nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Mervyn Scott; infant son, Everett Scott; son-in-law, Frank Tulloch; brothers, Loran (Mabel), Maynard, Harold (Elizabeth); sisters, Ena (Will) Dillman, Edith (Stirling) Archibald, Edna (Seymour) Harvie. Emma was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday August 30, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 331 Ashburn Ave. Halifax at 1:30pm on Friday August 31, 2018 with reception to follow in the church Hall. Burial at Riverside Cemetery, Sherbrooke, NS on September 1, 2018 at 1pm.
