WEBER, EMMA CHRISTINE – It is with a measure of both sadness at her passing and joy of a life well-lived that we, her family, announce that Emma Christine Weber passed away peacefully at the Hanover Care Centre on Wednesday January 17, 2018 in her 95th year.
She was born May 4, 1923 on the family farm in Normanby Township; one of nine children of the late George and Emma (Becker) Lantz.

Emma will be deeply missed but not forgotten by her daughter Jeannette and her husband, Roger Wyatt; her three grandsons Andrew (Sarah) Wyatt, Chris (Mirabela) Wyatt and Matthew Wyatt and his girlfriend, Sarah Jackson, all of Kitchener. Proud and loving great-grandmother of Colin, Eric, Reid and Isabella Emma Wyatt.
She will be sadly missed by her sister Lavina Fritz of Hanover; by brothers George (Doreen) Lantz of Mildmay and Harold (Hazel) Lantz of Neustadt. Remembered by sister-in-law Ruth Weber of Hanover and brother-in-law Mel Janke of Waterloo.
Predeceased by sisters Elizabeth (Milton) Russel, Catherine (Arnold) Russel and Alma Janke; by brothers John (Violet) Lantz and Ezra (Alice) Lantz. Also predeceased by sisters-in-law Amelia (Alex) Letson, Laura (Menno) Schenk, Alvina (Conrad) Weber, Doretta (George) Muller, Emma (Elmer) Russwurm and brothers-in-law Charles (Edna) Weber, Aaron Weber; Lloyd Fritz and Wilfred Weppler.
Survived by many nieces and nephews.
Emma’s determined work ethic, her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, her delicious meals, her hand-made quilts and afghans will all provide lasting memories of her creativity and talents.
Emma lived her life with honesty, dignity and compassion always giving of her time and energy to those in need with patience and love.
With grateful hearts we say thank you to our relatives and friends for their support, prayers and visits during the last number of years.
Emma’s family wish to thank the compassionate and caring staff of the Hanover Care Centre for their dignity and respect as they tended Emma through her illness, making her difficult journey more bearable.
Emma’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday at the Garrett Chapel, 378 Adam Street, Neustadt from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A celebration of Emma’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Normanby on Saturday January 20, 2018 at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior, with Pastor Ed Bastian officiating. Reception to follow in Parish Hall. Interment will be at St. John’s Pioneer Cemetery in the spring time.
