Our hearts are broken as we announce with extreme grief, the passing of Emily Mann. Emily died suddenly on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in her new found home of Winnipeg. Loving and adored daughter of Shayne Mann and Kathy Ruston (Paris). Beloved sister of Hilary Mann (Halifax). Loving partner of Matt Morison (Winnipeg). Cherished granddaughter of Anne and Ray Mann (Brantford) and Helen and Ernest Ruston (deceased of Woodslee). Loved by so many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Emily was only 26 years old and had lived life to the fullest. She had beloved friends all around Canada and the world. She had lived on all three coasts of Canada as well as in France, China and New Zealand. She cared tremendously for her family, friends and the entire world around her. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, humour and sense of adventure will always be remembered by everyone she met.
Emily graduated from Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB and recently completed her Master of Environmental Studies at Waterloo. She worked passionately to improve access to food in communities across Canada. She was excited to begin a new life, settling in Winnipeg with Matt, and their new dog Gage. She impacted so many communities in her short life, and we are going to miss dearly seeing what else she could have accomplished and who she would become.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home. Complete details will be available in the Saturday January 20, 2018 edition of the Brantford Expositor and on the funeral home website as soon as they are available. To honour Emily’s memory, donations can be made to a food bank of your choice.
