Obituary of Elwood Mackey
Mackey, Elwood – of Bancroft, passed away on Monday, August 27th, at Hastings Centennial Manor, Bancroft, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Young) Mackey. Loving father of Nina, Sheilah (Al), and Diane, all of Bancroft; Dennis (Lori), of London, and David, of Scarborough. Proud grandfather of Trevor, Ryan, Adam, Megan (Mike), Amanda and Andrew and great grandfather of Alisa, Heidi, Grace and Ava. Elwood is also survived by sister-in-law Edna Mackey, of MacArthur’s Mills. Elwood was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Margaret (nee Stoughton) Mackey, by three sisters: Marjorie Loney, Aletha Inwood and Olive “Ollie” Wood; and by brothers Russell, Gillie, Jimmie, Eddie, Norman and Bert. Elwood is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held at the Bancroft Bible Chapel on Friday, August 31st, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends at the Chapel from 11:30 until the time of the service. Cremation to follow with Interment of the cremated remains at a later date in Carlow Cemetery.
