Obituary of Elsie Mayo
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Elsie Marie Mayo announces her passing at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018 at the age of 72 years. Born in Burin, NL, Elsie was the daughter of the late Isaac and Hilda Bennett. She was also predeceased by her son Dean, daughter Valerie, brother George Bennett, brother-in-law John Drake, Boyd Beazley, Gordon Brewer, Lester Mayo, sister-in-law Gloria Mayo.
She leaves to mourn with precious and loving memories her loving husband Eldon of Port au Bras 49 years of Marriage; daughters Nellie and husband Steve of Mount Pearl, Tina of Port au Bras, Granddaughter Justina of Mount Pearl, sisters Sarah Drake of Burin, Rosie Pardy and husband Clarence of Port au Bras, goddaughter Valerie Pardy of Red Deer, brother-in-laws Freeman Mayo of Burin, Gerald Mayo and wife Glynda of Big Salmonier, Bill Mayo and wife Vera of Ontario, Tom Mayo and Marg of Paradise, Eric Mayo and wife Marie of Ontario, sister-in-laws Sheila and husband Levi of Ontario, Mabel and husband Nick of Mortier, Yvonne and husband Alvin of Marystown, Bernice Beazley of Burin, Irene Brewer of Burin Bay, Muriel Mayo of Ontario and plus a large circle of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 8th, 2018 from 6-9PM and Sunday, December 9th, 2018 from 10am-9 pm at Serenity Funeral Home in Burin, NL. The funeral service will be held at the Serenity Chapel in Burin, NL on Monday, December 10th, 2018 at 1 PM officiated by Ltn. Daniel Kelly with interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery, Salmonier, NL. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Elsie memory can be made to Salvation Army Cemetery Fund or Burin Peninsula Health Care Foundation.
