OBITUARY
Elsie Bernice Tayler
17 April , 1928 – 19 May , 2018
Bernice Tayler passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2018 at the age of 90.
She was predeceased by husband Ernest.
She is survived by her son Ron (Deanna), daughter Janice (Max), granddaughter Carly (Jon) and great grandson Logan, grandson Jason (Allison), and sisters Lucille (Bert), and Priscilla.
Bernice was born in Macgregor, Manitoba. In 1953 she married Ernest and they celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2013.
Family was her most important priority and she excelled at the role of homemaker. She made a point of remembering what everyone liked and personalized each meal. She used to say that Ernest would not marry her until she learned to bake bread. Everything she made was done from scratch. Some of her specialities were cookies, pies, cakes, pickles, jams, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Mom was positive, passionate and caring. She was a great listener and always had a cup of tea and smile ready for everyone.
In 2003 she earned a silver award from the cancer society for her many years of volunteer work.
She was generous and giving of her time with family, friends and many cause driven organizations.
She was happiest surrounded by loved ones and nature.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, 240 Tache Ave, Winnipeg, MB, at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bernice’s memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3.
