Mom, Grandma, Great Gramma passed away Monday, Oct 29, 2018 at the Westlock Continuing Care Centre after a short but courageous battle with dementia. She is survived by her 3 children, Lynn (Azam) Guest of Penticton, Dan (Marlene) Guest of Westlock, Lee (John) Boyle of Okotoks, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 sister Birgit of Denmark and numerous Danish relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Guest in 1998, her mother and father of Denmark, 1 brother of Westlock, 1 brother of Denmark and 3 sisters of Denmark. Else came to Westlock from Denmark in April of 1950 to work as a registered nurse at the Westlock Hospital for one year and then return to Denmark. Mom met Dad and after a 3 month courtship, they were married on Christmas Eve 1950. They say the rest is history, she only went back to Denmark for a few visits.

A poem for Mom
The Clock of Time
The clock of time is wound but once
And no man has the power
To tell just where the hands will stop
At late or early hours
The present only is our own
Live-Love-Toil with a will
Place no faith in tomorrow
For the clock may then be silent
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Westlock Continuing Care Centre (Resident Comfort Fund). Westlock Funeral Home has been entrusted with the cremation. At mom’s request there will be no funeral service. A private family graveside service will be held in the future.
