Obituary of Elizabeth Towers
Betty Towers peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the age of 86.
She was the daughter of the late David & Elizabeth (nee Kennedy) Lackie.
Beloved wife of Earl Towers for 62 beautiful years.
Loving mother of Douglas Towers of Chatham & Jayne (Stephen) Pope of Texas.
Predeceased by brothers, Ian & Charles Lackie.
Betty retired from Union Gas after more than 30 years of service. She enjoyed spending her time baking, knitting, traveling with her husband Earl & spending time with her children. She was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and loved dogs.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Riverview Gardens Nursing Home, Floor 5 East for their care and compassion towards Betty throughout her time there.
Family to receive friends on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday at the Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
