Elizabeth « Geraldine » Levandier
February 12, 1929 – September 07, 2018
Elizabeth “Geraldine” Levandier, passed away September 7th, 2018 at the age of 89 surrounded by her family. Born in Port Felix she was a daughter of the late Peter & Johanna Marr. She is proceeded by her husband Cyril and her daughter-in law Sherian Levangie. She is the last remaining member of her immediate family and leaves behind devoted family and friends.
Sons: Gary (Truro), Derrick (Paula) Halifax, Daughters: Karen (a.k.a. Tootise) Beaver Bank, Terrylee Slaunwhite (Ernie) Lower Sackville and Denise, Halifax.
Grandchildren: Tina (Paul), Troy (Lori), Karla (Paul), Jennifer (Mike), Gillian, Melissa, Vanessa
Greatgrandchildren: Paige, Rose, Keagan, Zoey, Dylan, Audrey
Special Family members: Sister Venita Charlton and niece Emily LaPierre, daughter Susan Kelly and long life friend Edna Dorey, many nieces and nephews and her Bingo family especially Donna & Marsha
She was a devoted catholic who could be found daily at St. Mary’ Basilica for lunch time mass. We always knew when traveling with her a 15 minute trip would likely turn into an hour long trip; no matter where you went, she knew someone. Between the hugs and conversation, the trip became an hour. If you were sick, guaranteed she would go to church and light a candle and then she would take the credit when you got well. We will forever remember her sassy humour; her sayings: “Dear God” and “Oh, well that’s the way it goes”. In her retirement, she enjoyed her time at Spencer House, Ward 5, Northern Light’s and many trips to St. Anne’s.
She devoted her life raising her family with commitment and love. Over the last few years she has shown us bravery and courage you could not imagine. Her legacy will live on in all of us and will forever be our greatest gem.
Thank you to the surgeon’s and the nurses that took special care of our mom at the QEII 8.1 & 8.3. Special thanks to Isaac who always made our mother smile even on her darkest day.
Funeral will be held on September 12th, 2018 Wednesday 10:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Canadian Diabetes Society.
