Elizabeth « Betty » Neidert
1936-2018
Elizabeth (Betty) Neidert (nee Knoch) passed away peacefully on
December 26, 2018 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital after a brief illness
at the age of 82. Born in Nagyszekely, Hungary on August 2, 1936; she
emigrated to Canada with her family in 1953. Elizabeth was a lifelong
resident of Cambridge (Galt) and formerly employed by Canada Machinery
Corporation (CMC) before leaving work to raise her family. She was a
devoted member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Schwaben
Club Women’s Auxiliary. She loved to dance and was happiest when
surrounded by her many friends and extended family to whom she was
affectionately known as Tante Betty. Her other passions included
baking, gardening and travelling. She will be deeply missed by her
husband of 58 years Philip, her sons Richard (Lori) and Eric
(Micheline) and grandchildren Emily, Benjamin and Danielle. She was
predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Knoch and is also
survived by her mother-in law Margaret Neidert. The funeral will take
place Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 am at St Paul’s
Lutheran Church, 63 Grand Ave Cambridge N1S 2L1. Friends will be
received one hour before the funeral and at a reception following the
service. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church, The Canadian Cancer Society (Metastatic Breast Cancer Futures
Fund) or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the
family.
