Obituary Overview
In Loving Memory
Elizabeth (Teedie) Murray, of Moncton, passed away January 16, 2018. Elizabeth was born in Chipman, New Brunswick in 1936 to Vernon and Jessie (Bishop) Chase. Elizabeth is survived and will be sadly missed by her husband of 58 years, William, daughter Karen (Greg) Fyfe, and her grandchildren Maggie, Carlie and Dylan. Elizabeth is also survived by many nieces and nephews, part of her large extended family.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her daughter Lynn, brothers Eugene (Kaye) and Gerald (Nancy) Chase, and sister Sharon (Laurie) Hebert.
Moving from Chipman to Moncton in her early years, Elizabeth was able to take on life’s challenges and graduated from Moncton High School and Oulton College, initially working as a stenographer for an Accounting firm but later making the choice to stay home to be with her children. She volunteered at Bessborough School and later at the Moncton Hospital for many years, including the post-operative ward. Volunteer work is a testament to Elizabeth’s character, someone who wanted to give more than receive.
Those who knew Elizabeth will remember her for her sense of humour, love of animals (especially cats) and her love of friends and family get togethers. Throughout her life Elizabeth was vibrant and energetic, getting enjoyment and satisfaction from helping others. From the early days of camping trips with family groups to the later days of visits with grandchildren she always enjoyed the company of others. She enjoyed and valued many years of friendship with Meagan and Marguerite and so many others. She and her husband shared a love of New Brunswick’s wildlife with walks and adventures in nature.
The family would like to thank the caring and loving staff of Grass Nursing Home for many years of excellent passionate service.
As per her wishes there will be a private family gathering at a later date.
In memory of Elizabeth donations can be made to the Friends of Moncton Hospital.
