Eleanor Mann (née Gaffney) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the age of 88 years. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her 6 children: Ken (Barb), Laurette, Mary Lou (Mark), Christine (Nelson), Tim (Caroline) and Sheila (Matt). Eleanor is also remembered by 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many extended family including Donna Gaffney, Charlotte Gaffney, Ken Westby, Mary Mann; Leona Rippl, Roman Mann (Margaret); Michael Forestell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was born in Regina and raised in Kronau, Saskatchewan. She attended High School in Regina, and later worked for Saskatchewan Government Insurance. She was active in the Catholic Youth Community, and loved dancing and curling. It was while living in Regina that she met and married her husband of 61 years, the late Martin Mann. Eleanor and Martin eventually made Calgary their home, where they raised their children. Eleanor worked and volunteered her time for most of her life. Above all she was a tireless mother and wife, whose door was always open to family, friends, and friends of friends. She was generous to the core of her being, and she will be remembered always for her intelligent wit, laughter, wisdom, and unmatched cinnamon buns. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church (5504 – 20 Street SW) on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
