It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Eleanor Newell (nee Hamilton) on October 30, 2018. Google Maps Mississauga and son Mike Newell, daughter in-law Carrie and grandchildren Joshua and Avery Newell of Oakville. Eleanor is survived and will be lovingly missed by her siblings, Carm Hamilton of Lindsay and Vivian Dunlop in Alberta, sister-in-law Karen and Gord Lorimer, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear neighbours and good friends at the Carlisle Food Bank.
Eleanor grew up in Millgrove and met Jim on the neighboring farm in Carlisle. In 1967, her father built our family home across the road from the Newell family farm. She was passionate about her volunteer work at the Flamborough Food Bank and always had fond memories of her time with Jim at the trailer in Combermere. May she rest in peace by Jim’s side.
Friends may visit at the KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill Street North, Waterdown on Sunday, November 4 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral service at CARLISLE UNITED CHURCH, 1432 Centre Road, Carlisle on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Eleanor would want donations to be made to the Flamborough Food Bank in her memory.
