Obituary for
Eileen Madunic
It is with deep sadness that the family of, Eileen Mary Madunic announce her passing after a brief illness, on April 21, 2018 at the TBRHSC.
Eileen was born in Port Arthur on August 14, 1940. She was a life long resident of Thunder Bay. It was here where she met and married her loving husband Ivan, and raised two daughters.
Eileen worked for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in the payroll and accounting department, up until her retirement in the summer of 1996. She had a work ethic like no other. She never took a sick day.
After retirement, Eileen and Ivan began a new adventure. They began to travel more. They continued to entertain friends and family, with the barbeques and parties in their backyard. Mom had more time to spend doing the things she loved. She was an excellent gardener. She could make anything grow. Mom took on a new challenge helping to raise her two grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She always saved time to visit the casino to catch up with old friends and to win a little extra cash. She was the most generous mom, always thinking of others before her.
Eileen will be lovingly missed by her husband Ivan, her daughters; Susan (Rob Lemay), Joanne (Alex Ceci), her grandchildren, Alexis and Christian, her sister and brother in-law, Nikki and Rudy Maronik, and sister-in-law Anne Zadro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and dear life long friends.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, John and Nellie Zadro, her brother, George Zadro, her niece Linda Borovoy, her in-laws, Eva and Ante Madunic and brother and sister-in-law, Ante and Mara Madunic.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Eileen’s life will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Sargent & Son Funeral Home, 21 N. Court Street with Rev. Francis Pudicherry presiding. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Should friends desire, memorial donations to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated.
