Obituary for
Effie Doris Annie Mitchell (Penney)
It is with sorrowful hearts that the family of the late Effie Doris Annie Mitchell announces her passing. Effie slipped into the presence of the Lord from the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Centre, Baie Verte, NL on Friday, August 3rd, 2018 at the age of 83 years.
Effie is predeceased by her husband – Clarence Mitchell; infant sons – Leander & Terance Mitchell; parents – Leander & Melinda Penney; parents-in-law – Arthur & Clara Mitchell; son-in-law – Patrick Hollohan; siblings – Ida Farrell, Stella Shiner (Herbert), Frederick Penney, Cecil Penney, Jessie Thomas (Raymond), Francis Mitchell (Margaret), Frederick Prowse and Pastor Wallace Andrews.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are her children – Chloe Gillingham (Wilbert), Edna Burden (Hayward), Pauline Smith (Clyde), Marjorie Newbury (Eric), Guy Mitchell (Pansy) and Derek Mitchell (Fern); 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister – Marilyn Bowers (Giddis); siblings-in-law – Peirce Farrell, Ada Gillingham and Edna Penney; special friend – Emma Foster as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will take place from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington, NL on Sunday, August 5th, 2018 from 7:00-9:00PM and on Monday, August 6th, 2018 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM.
Pastor Craig Lane will conduct the Home-Going Service from Faith Pentecostal Church, Burlington. NL on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow from Bethel Pentecostal Cemetery, Smith’s Harbour, NL.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Effie’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
