OBITUARY
Edwin Pretsch
May 9, 1927 – November 5, 2018
Died peacefully after a period of failing health in Hamilton at age 91 on November 5, 2018.
Cherished husband of Gerry, wonderful father to Julianna and John and brother to Hilde Donner. Ed was a mechanical engineer by profession spending the bulk of his career with Stelco. He was an outdoorsman, skier, tennis player, amateur historian and lover of classical music. Ed was born in Czechoslovakia in 1927. He studied engineering in Germany, before immigrating to Canada in 1953. Ed initially settled in Toronto and eventually moved to Hamilton, where he married Gerry. Many happy summers where spent at cottages and on camping and skiing trips in northern Ontario.
A memorial gathering will be held at the TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1309 King Street East (across from Gage Park at the Delta) on Monday, November 12 from 3 pm to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family.
