Obituary for
Edwin « Ed » Paul Schatz
On May 5, 2018, Edwin “Ed” Paul Schatz of Rochfort Bridge, AB, passed away at the age of 87 years.
Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Amy; children, Linda Soucy, Arnella (Ray Reinhold) Romeo, Cleo (Don Henwood) Newman, Erwin (Judy) Schatz, Vivian (Brian Barnes) Kostiuk and Rhet (Karen Barr) Schatz; grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda (Dave), Brandi, Brent, Evan (Crystal), Derek (Susan), Rodney (Lindsay), Jennifer and Nicole (Sean); great-grandchildren, Rayden and Ottilie; and many more dear relatives and friends. Predeceased by infant daughter, Amelia; his parents; many of his siblings; and Ed’s 4-legged best friend, Buddy (2017).
Ed was born November 27, 1930, in Allan, SK. He spent most of his time on the farm he established with Amy; working the land, raising cattle, and quadding the property with Buddy. This past year Ed enjoyed sitting outdoors in his rocker with one of four cats in his lap. Ed will be best remembered for his deep love of family, a strong work ethic, an awesome sense of humour, and his ability to stretch stories into unbelievable tales.
