Edwin Austin Chamberlain
CHAMBERLAIN, Edwin Austin “Fuzzer”
Age 87 of Lower Sackville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday January the 26th, 2018. Born in Rockingham NS, he was a son of the late Edwin and Mary (Challis) Chamberlain. Fuzzer worked for CNR for 43 years until his retirement in 1991. He loved hunting, hiking, gardening, and fishing as long as he was outdoors or listening to his music he was happy. It is hard to find words to describe Fuzzer, smart, honest, dependable and respected all come to mind as do funny, compassionate and tender. His smile was constant and his laugh oh so contagious and he was always willing to lend a helping hand, he was someone you wanted to be around. Simply put, he was a good man and each of us will remember him in our own way. Fuzzer loved his family and they loved him back. He will be dearly missed by his wife of 61 years Mary (Gillis), daughter Karen and sons Mark (Janice) and Darren (Sonia), grandsons Kyle and Brandon Roberts. Fuzzer was predeceased by brothers Austin in infancy, Harold and Roy; sisters Pearl Hebb, Venie Spackman, Shelagh Kelly and Joyce Babineau; son-in-law Bruce Roberts. Fuzzer is survived by sister, Doris (Robie) Josey; brother, Art (Joan); sister-in-law Sherry Chamberlain (Gary) and fellow Sagewood resident Eleanor Chamberlain. Words alone cannot express our gratitude to his family at Sagewood and especially Butterfly Cottage. The care, attention and most importantly the love he received there will never be forgotten. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 31 at 10 a.m. followed by a reception in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
