It is with regret that we announce the sudden passing of Edward Nicholas Moore on June 27, 2018. Ed was born in Nanaimo, BC on June 10, 1930, the only child to Gladys and Jack Moore. Ed spent many years in various areas of BC as bank manager for the Bank of Nova Scotia. In 1966, Ed was transferred to Vernon to be the manager at the Bank of Nova Scotia. In 1972, the opportunity came up to purchase the credit bureau. In 1992, he sold and retired. Dad enjoyed travelling and visiting numerous parts of the world— Europe was a particular favourite. Dad was an active member of the Lions Club since 1962, serving as a past president and participating in many Lions Club events. He was also very active in the Meals on Wheels program. In his later years, he enjoyed going to his seniors’ exercise programs at the Schubert Centre and was an avid golfer and curler.
Ed passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Louise (Wayde) Schneider of Vernon; son, Kevin (Judy) Moore of Winnipeg; granddaughter, Krista (David) Miller of Oliver; and grandson, Patrick Schneider of Vernon. He was predeceased by Bernice Moore.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Doctor Arnold and the staff at Heritage Square for their kind care provided for Dad.
The Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
