Dr. Edward Boothe passed away on July 21, 2018 in his 94th year. Predeceased by his wife Helen Jean Carkner in June 2003. Loving and devoted father of Nancy (Douglas) Tindall of Calgary and Barbara (late Robert) Yantha of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Melanie (Jeffrey) Peterson, Matthew (Yan) Tindall, Melissa (Robert) Corns of Calgary and Jennifer Yantha of Ottawa. Great Grandfather of Caden Peterson and Charlotte and Georgia Corns. He was predeceased by his father Charles W. Boothe and his mother Maud Buckingham of Russell, his brothers Stanley (late Vera) Boothe, Leslie (late Iola) Boothe and sisters Edna (Mervin) Jeacle and Mary K. (late Leonard) Fisher. He was employed with Agriculture Canada, Health of Animals Branch and as such was involved in the prevention, control and eradication of contagious diseases in animals. During his time with the Branch contagious diseases such as Foot and Mouth Disease, Brucellosis, Hog Cholera and Equine Infectious Anemia were eradicated. His work took him to Toronto, Barrie, Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, Ottawa, Brest France, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Niagara Falls and Arnprior. He was District Veterinarian in Arnprior when he retired in 1984 after 36 years of dedicated Federal Service. Private family burial was held at Capital Memorial Gardens.
